Artistic Journey

Every so often I take out my palette knives and oil paints to create floral designs (mainly sunflowers) that focus on texture and color contrast. Leonid Afremov and Vincent Van Gogh inspired these works. I find the palette knife process to be incredibly soothing and I like how the thick paint gives each piece texture.

I also really enjoy learning how to make mugs, bowls, blates, and cups out of clay and experiment with different glazes. I started learning ceramics when I was five with my long-time mentor and friend Soyong Kang Partington. I currently work at Terrace Clay Studio in Charleston, South Carolina as a volunteer.
